Language & Literacy Services

At Talk to Tots, we grasp the importance of literacy—reading and writing—in all aspects of life, be it at school, home, or during playtime. As a devoted speech-language pathologist (SLP), I'm dedicated to aiding your child in mastering these essential skills. Right from the earliest developmental stages, when your child is just a baby learning to produce sounds, they're laying down the groundwork for language. As they advance, they discover how to shape those sounds into words and use them to express their thoughts and feelings. These foundational language skills are crucial on the path to becoming proficient in reading and writing. After all, in the realm of communication, every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and express themselves fully.

I believe in teamwork and collaboration. As an SLP, I work closely with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in their care to ensure we're all aligned and working towards the same goals. I also invite parents to participate in sessions so they can reinforce practice at home, strengthening the progress made during therapy sessions. At 'Talk to Tots,' I'm dedicated to helping your child overcome reading challenges and thrive academically and personally. These early language skills pave the way for mastering reading and writing, and we're here to guide you every step of the way.

Language Development & Disorders

Language is made up of the words we use to share ideas and get what we want. Language includes listening, speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. A child with a language disorder may have trouble with one or more of these skills:

  • Not smiling or playing with others.
